Man's Body Found Floating Off Of Battery Park
A passenger on a party boat called 911 after spotting the body floating face down in the Hudson River, police said.
FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — Police pulled the body of a man out of the Hudson River near Battery Park Friday — he remains unidentified as of Monday morning, police said.
The man, who cops believe to be in his 50s, was fished from the waters near Battery Park Plaza at 9 p.m. A boat with the FDNY's Marine Unit responded to the 911 call after a passenger on a party boat spotted the victim's body floating face down, officials said.
There were no obvious signs of trauma on the man's body and he was pronounced dead on the scene. The city's Medical Examiner will determine the man's cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
