NEW YORK, NY — Mayor Eric Adams' trip to Los Angeles this week included hanging out with Dave Chappelle just hours after the comedian was attacked on stage, according to reports.

Adams told NBC that he saw Chappelle later in the night after a since-arrested man tackled the comedian while he performed at the Netflix Is A Joke comedy festival, the outlet reports.

The mayor, who was in Los Angeles attending various events this week, said Chappelle was back to his normal self and telling jokes by their encounter.

"Thank God there was a response to make sure that he wasn’t injured seriously," the mayor told NBC, connecting the attack to "some of the mental health crises we’re facing."

"It was horrific to have someone come on stage and attack in that manner," he continued.

Isaiah Lee, 23, was later charged in the on-stage assault.

Authorities said Lee rushed the stage at the Bowl around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday while Chappelle was performing, a replica handgun equipped with a retractable knife blade in his possession, according to reports.

Security were able to subdue Lee and Chappelle, who continued the show, was left uninjured.
