SoHo, Tribeca, FiDi Take Part in National Night Out Against Crime
NYPD community affairs officers celebrated with community members Tuesday evening while teaching them best safety practices.
If you ever wanted to party with a police officer, you had your chance this week.
New York City's National Night Out Against Crime happens annually on the first Tuesday of August, and the 1st Precinct, spanning the Financial District, Tribeca and SoHo, celebrated Aug. 2. It marks a day where community affairs NYPD officers teach communities different best safety practices at local festivals for different precincts.
Precinct 1's Night Out Against Crime event went from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at South Street Seaport on Fulton Street. There was food, fun, music and games.

The guest of honor was former Giants and Jets punter Steve Weatherford. State Sen.
