This weekend, it’ll be a frigid endeavor for pranksters who want to bare (almost) everything; the high on Sunday is forecasted at 21 degrees. The joke is meant to be a giant, citywide prank on those not in the know: If you’re participating in the no pants subway ride, you’re supposed to act like everything in normal, and not even acknowledge other pants-less commuters. The gag comes from the comedy group Improv Everywhere, which routinely puts on pranks throughout the city, like when it turned this MTA elevator into an Apple store.
