NYC Features Women In Manufacturing In New Photo Exhibit
NYC's Department of Transportation is unveiling a new photo exhibit on Wednesday.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The city's transportation department unveiled an exhibit featuring modern-day "Rosie the Riveters" on Wednesday, to celebrate International Women's Day and highlight women in the industry.
NYC's Department of Transportation opened the photo exhibit, titled "Women Can Build," in the Financial District on International Women's Day. The exhibit features 16 images of women working manufacturing and transportation jobs. The goal, officials said, was to "Re-envision Rosie," a reference to the famed image of Rosie the Riveter.
The photographs were taken by Pulitzer-winning photographer Deanne Fitzmaurice. Along with Fitzmaurice's original images, photos of manufacturing workers from the Library of Congress will also be displayed.
