The statue, which is currently staring down the tourist-favorite statue of a charging bull, will definitely remain in place for at least a week. The statue was installed by State Street Global Advisors, an asset management company trying to bring attention to its push to get more women on public companies' boards.

"If the city wants to make it a permanent installation a la the charging bull, we're fully support of that," an SSGA spokeswoman told Patch on Tuesday.
Assembly member Yuh-Line Niou has also called for the statue to be made permanent.

"In a short time, the Fearless Girl statue has managed to captivate the imagination of many, and it has motivated us to look past typical symbols of power, resilience, and courage," Niou said in a statement. "That is why I am calling for the City to explore the permanent placement of the statue at its current location."
Niou represents multiple lower Manhattan neighborhoods in the state assembly.
