Students organized a rally in Foley Square at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday to follow the walkout. Students filled the square on Tuesday afternoon, decrying an order the president signed on Jan. 27 that banned travel from seven predominantly Muslim countries, among other actions. The travel ban has been stayed by a temproary restraining order from a judge in Seattle.

"Even though there was a temporary halt on the Muslim ban, we must remain vigilant," the walkout's organizers wrote on Facebook.
"Betsy DeVos was confirmed today despite her shameful inexperience and complete lack of understanding for the very job she seeks," one student speaker said on Tuesday before the Foley Square crowd, according to Gothamist.
