NYPD Bomb Squad Clears Car Left Sitting Outside 120 Broadway
The police were called to look at a car which was parked on Cedar Street outside Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office.
FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The NYPD was called to check out a suspicious vehicle on Cedar Street near Broadway on Monday morning. After shutting down the street and calling in the bomb squad, the car was deemed to be safe, a police spokesman said.
The car was parked on Cedar Street at the corner of Broadway right outside 120 Broadway, a building which houses multiple government agencies, including Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and the Department of City Planning. The Downtown Alliance, which manages the Downtown-Lower Manhattan Business Improvement District, is also headquartered in the building.
The bomb squad was called in at about 8:45 a.m., and the car was deemed safe about a half hour later.
