10 Injured In Escalator Collapse At Stuyvesant High School

One person's toe was partially severed during the ordeal Thursday, FDNY said.

TRIBECA, NY — An escalator collapsed at Stuyvesant High School injuring ten people Thursday — including one person whose toe was partially severed during the ordeal, FDNY said.

Medics rushed to the school at 345 Chambers Street just after 3:40 p.m. One person was transported to Bellevue Hospital and another person was taken to Lower Manhattan Hospital for treatment, an FDNY spokesman said.

The rest of the group suffered minor cuts.
