Popular Fidi Bar The Dead Rabbit To Double In Size: Report

The popular Water Street bar will be expanding this year.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The Dead Rabbit bar will nearly double in size this year, bringing more space to the popular Financial District bar, according to a new report.

The Wall Street Journal first reported that the Dead Rabbit, located at 30 Water St., would take over a two-floor space adjacent to its current site. Eventually, the bar will combine both locations creating a total 5,500 square feet, according to the Journal.

The bar has quickly become a popular watering hole since it opened in 2013.

In 2016, it was dubbed the world's best bar by a group of 500 drink experts, and the spot frequently draws long lines and wait times of more than an hour on busy nights.

Dead Rabbit co-founders Jack McGarry and Sean Muldoon told the Journal that the terms of their new lease are for 17 years.
