Refugee Agency To Rally In Battery Park
Refugee agency HIAS organizes Battery Park rally in day of nationwide action.

BATTERY PARK, NY — A Jewish refugee agency has organized a Sunday morning rally in support of refugees in the wake of President Donald Trump's executive orders affecting refugees and migrants
"President Trump's recent actions against refugees are an outrage and a betrayal of American and Jewish values," organizers wrote on the event's Facebook page. "In the 1930’s, Jewish refugees were turned away from these shores in their greatest hour of need. Our community must stand up for refugees, and not allow history to repeat itself."
HIAS, a nonprofit that supports refugees, is organizing the rally in Battery Park at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning. Mayor Bill de Blasio is expected to be among the speakers at the rally.
