Taylor Swift's Stalker Broke Into Her Tribeca Home: Authorities
The man is accused of using a ladder to climb to an upper-level window in Swift's home and breaking in, authorities said.

TRIBECA, NY — Taylor Swift's stalker used a ladder to climb up to a window of her Tribeca townhouse on Friday and break in, according to media reports and prosecutors.
Roger Alvarado was previously arrested in February when he used a shovel to break a glass door at Swift's NYC home on Franklin Street, according to a police report. On Friday, Alvarado tried again, and used a ladder to climb up to an upper-level window in Swift's home at about 2 a.m. on Friday, prosecutors said.
The New York Daily News, which first covered the break-in, reported that Alvarado took a shower in Swift's bathroom and then fell asleep on the couch, where the pop star's security team found him hours later. Swift did not appear to be home at the time of the break-in.

Alvarado is facing charges of burglary and criminal contempt for the Friday break-in as well as a criminal mischief charge for the February break-in. After the February break-in, a judge issued an order of protection requiring Alvarado to stay away from Swift and her home, which Alvarado violated on Friday, according to authorities. The order of protection remains in place.
"His behavior shows no regard for the court order and the criminal justice system," a prosecutor for the Manhattan district attorney said at his arraignment, according to the Daily News.

Prosecutors requested a $75,000 bail. Bail was instead set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. Alvarado remains in jail at the Manhattan Detention Complex in Manhattan, according to NYC Department of Correction records. Patch was not immediately able to contact his attorney on Tuesday.
