A Tea-Themed Pop Up Installation Comes To Tribeca

The experience includes a ball room with a giant "boba tea" bottle.

TRIBECA, NY — A new pop-up playground for tea enthusiasts has landed in Tribeca.

The "Room For Tea" installation at 371 broadway between Franklin and White streets is the latest addition to Lower Manhattan's instagramable mini-museums. Dedicated to various types of tea, the pop-up celebrates the cultural significance of the beverage.

"Tea should be considered as more than just a bottle of Snapple, but as an ingredient that has the power to bring people together," according to the installation's website. "It stands for different cultures. Every culture has its own adaption here and in NYC we celebrate that."

The installation includes five separate exhibits — the "Labyrinth of Tea Origin," "Milk Tea Metropolis," "Matcha under Cherry Blossom," "Summer BOBA Court" and "Mint Tea Secret Box" — to explore on their 40 minute journey through several brightly decorated tea-themed rooms. One room even features a giant "Boba tea" bottle, a Taiwanese drink known for its tapioca balls.

General admission will cost visitors $23 and includes a free boba tea, with different flavors depending on the week. For $33, guests can also partake in a 40-minute tea ceremony experience.
