Thief Steals From Donation Box In Signature Theatre, Police Say
Police are searching for a man who they say has stolen from multiple women throughout Manhattan.

MANHATTAN, NY — Police are searching for an unknown man who they say is responsible for a string of thefts throughout Manhattan last month.
The man has stolen credit cards and cash from multiple women's purses and wallets, and even scooped up some cash from a donation box inside Broadway's Signature Theatre, according to a statement from the NYPD. Police believe the man's pickpocketing spree began on June 2. On that day, he stopped by three buildings in the East Village, stealing from two people, authorities said. He grabbed a women's credit card and some cash from a women's purse before fleeing to a nearby building, where he he stole another women's credit card from her purse according to the NYPD. Police said the two thefts occurred within a half hour.

Later that month, on June 12, the man went into a SoHo boutique and took two credit cards from a 22-year-old woman's wallet, police said. He allegedly charged $651 to the cards. A few days later, in Tribeca, the man entered a business and stole an unknown amount of cash from two women.
He topped his pickpocketing spree off by stopping by the Signature Theatre on June 21, where police say he broke of the lid of a donation box and stole an unknown amount of cash from it. Before leaving the theater, he also lifted a credit card from a woman's wallet, the NYPD said.

Police released photos and surveillance video of the busy pickpocket on Thursday night, and have asked for the public's help identifying him.
