Thrill-Seeker Arrested After Scaling Manhattan Crane 71 Stories High, Police Say

A 25-year-old crane climber was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, according to police.

TRIBECA, NY — A thrill-seeker who scaled a Financial District construction crane was arrested this weekend, according to police.

Andrew Liu, 25, climbed to dizzying heights near a building at Fulton and William streets on Friday night, police said. The 25-year-old reportedly climbed the crane with a camera in hand. The crane Liu climbed was 71 stories high, but it was not immediately clear how far Liu made before police cuffed him. Liu is facing charges of burglary, reckless endangerment and criminal trespass, authorities said.
