Tribeca is New York's No. 1 Neighborhood to Live in, Report Says

Tribeca is an A+ in nightlife and family activities, and an A in education level, commutes and health and fitness levels.

When you think of the absolute best neighborhood in New York City, what do you think of? Well, a new report says the best neighborhood is Tribeca, hands down. The company that wrote the report is called Niche, a startup that grades neighborhoods, schools and other establishments that dictate quality of life in a particular area. Niche gave Tribeca an A+ as a cumulative grade of several elements.

Tribeca was given an A in education, meaning a high level of residents have a bachelor's degree or higher. Access to bars and nightlife earned an A+, as did family amenities, which was based on access families have to libraries, cultural activities, parks, and other things to do. Other A's were given in shortest commute, health and fitness levels, and outdoor activities. Tribeca's public school grade, based on an average of all the grades Niche has given public schools in the neighborhood in the past, was a less impressive B. Diversity was a B-, and employment was a C+.

"It is a human-scaled walkable neighborhood with a livable density, sunny streets, great architecture, a great school, a great park, and great access to public transportation," said Lynn Ellsworth, chair of Tribeca Trust.
