3 Rescued From Raging Boat Fire On LI Bay: Police
Suffolk County police marine bureau rescue officers, as well as a good Samaritan, saved the 3 men, police say.

GREAT RIVER, NY — Three people were rescued from a raging boat fire in the Great South Bay off Great River Saturday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place at 9:43 a.m. Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers and a good Samaritan rescued three men from the boat, about one mile south of Timber Point.
Officers found a 2014 Rodman cruiser fully engulfed; the three passengers, David Collins, of East Patchogue, Michael Flemming, of Farmingville, and Inshaw Khan, of Shirley, had evacuated the boat and were onboard a nearby vessel with a good Samaritan, police said.

The three men were all transferred to a marine bureau boat while Marine Kilo officers deployed fire suppression hoses to extinguish the fire, police said.
There were no injuries reported due to the fire and the boat was impounded. Marine Bureau units Juliet, Kilo, and Mike all responded to the scene, as did the East Islip, Bayport, and Great River Fire Departments, police said.
