6 Teens Charged With Burglary, Trespass At Dowling College: Police
The teens were charged for criminal incidents that took place in May, police say.

OAKDALE, NY — Six teenagers were arrested and charged in connection with burglary, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass incidents in May at the former Dowling College site building, Suffolk County Police said.
Sometime between May 25 and May 29, a group of males broke into the vacant site, located at 150 Idle Hour Blvd. in Oakdale, and painted graffiti on the wall.
A group of males also trespassed in the building on May 27 and May 29, police said.

Following an investigation by Hate Crimes Unit detectives, the following teenagers and their charges include:
• An 18-year-old was charged with burglary and criminal mischief on Monday. He was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip the same day.
• A 17-year-old was charged with burglary and criminal mischief as well as criminal trespass
for the incident on May 29. He was arrested on June 30 and arraigned at the Youth part of First District Court the same day, police said.
• Three 17-year-olds were charged with criminal trespass for the May 27 incident.
• A 17-year-old was charged with two counts of criminal trespass for the incidents on May 27 and May 29.
The four 17-year-olds charged with criminal trespass will be arraigned at Family Court at a later date, police said.

Dowling College closed in 2016, after it struggled financially for years. The property has recently been a popular site of vandalism.
