East Islip Bar Shooting: Woman Bystander Critically Wounded, Cops Say

A gun discharged in a fight between two men and she was struck her neck by a bullet, cops say.

EAST ISLIP, NY — A woman was critically wounded in an East Islip bar shooting early Sunday morning, Suffolk cops say.

One man approached another inside of Outfield Pub on Carleton Avenue and pressed a handgun against his body at around 1:10 a.m., cops said, adding, that a brief fight broke out, causing the gun to discharge and strike a woman bystander in the neck, and the man, who was threatened, sustained a cut to his head.

The suspect bolted from the scene, cops said.

The woman was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, and the man was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
