GREAT RIVER, NY— Without community leaders, Great River wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

How do you know the community leader?

So Much! He was commissioner for 36 years of the Great River Fire District, charter Executive for Boy Scouts Troop 205, former peace officer for 15 years for the SPCA, and founder of For The Kids Foundation in East Islip.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

For the last 40 years, Paul has been and still is a very important community leader for the Town of Islip. Paul has effortlessly volunteered his services for a countless number of non-profit organizations over the years with no recognition.

His good works have helped shaped many good organizations and people along the way. Paul is always the first person on the scene to help and provide solutions to problems. And most important, he always makes himself available lend a helping hand.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

Paul always puts his community duty's first before himself. He stands up to any injustices and does what is morally right.
