Man Charged With Drug Possession At East Islip Bar Inspection: Cops

Officers were inspecting the bar, after incidents of violence occurred there in the last three months, police say.

EAST ISLIP, NY — A man was arrested and charged Sunday after officers found him in custody of cocaine during a compliance check at an East Islip bar, Suffolk County police said.

At about 1 a.m., officers observed the West Babylon man walking out of Outfield Pub, located at 168 Carleton Ave. and getting into a 2009 Toyota Camry in the parking lot.

The man was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, police said.

Police had conducted the State Liquor Authority compliance at the bar, following incidents of violence during the last three months.

The man was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket and will be arraigned at a later date, police said.

There are ongoing investigations into potential violations at the business being conducted by both Islip Town and the State Liquor Authority.
