Don't Forget: Santa Parade in East Hampton Set for Saturday

Santa is coming to town . . . or at least the village.

The annual Santa Parade is happening Saturday in East Hampton Village. The processional of floats and marchers start on Main Street at 10 a.m., and will travel up Newtown Lane. This year's theme is "Disney Holiday."

Afterwards, Santa will greet children at the Huntting Inn on Main Street.

The East Hampton Lions Club will also be accepting canned goods during its annual food drive during the parade. Look for a Lions member as the organization's float parades down the streets.

The East Hampton Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual parade.

Better bring your umbrella, there is a chance of a showers in the morning. High 41F.

The parade is on despite the forecast. "Santa lives in the North Pole and he is used to all kinds of weather," Marina Van, the executive director of the chamber, said. "People could always call the office tomorrow morning and if it is canceled there will be a message.  But rain doesn't frighten Santa — only if there is a blizzard and Rudolph can not see."
