Here are the top stories in East Hampton today:

1. An Amagansett man died following an altercation at an East Hampton home Saturday night, police said. According to Suffolk County Police homicide squad detectives and East Hampton Town Police, the incident took place at 10:40 p.m. on Lincoln Avenue; a 911 call came in regarding an altercation between two men, Marc Dern and Kevin Somers, police said. Somers, 45, of Amagansett, was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital where he was pronounced dead; Dern, 35, who lives at the home, was not injured, police said. (East Hampton Patch)
2. Drive on any major highway in Suffolk and you'll notice many potholes. Suffolk County residents say potholes are causing major damage to their vehicles. A bill in Albany is seeking to make the Department of Transportation pay for damage done to cars for all parts of the year. (News 12)
