Here are the top stories today in East Hampton:
- "The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce is excited to present HarborFrost on Saturday, Feb. 5. This winter celebration highlights two extreme elements β fire and ice. Featuring live ice carving demonstrations, ice sculptures along Main Street, ZIMA theatrical scavenger hunt, outdoor dance party at Steinbeck Park with DJ Twilo, and fire dancers on the beach, thereβs something for everyone! Spend the day shopping and dining in Sag Harbor. And donβt miss the grand finale: Fireworks by Grucci over the harbor!"(Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce)
- Billed as βBad Hockey For A Good Cause,β the Hackers won the game, 7-3, but the results were secondary to the mission at hand. According to the Sag Harbor Express, District 9 First Responders β made up of firefighters, police, EMTs and ocean rescue members from the East Hampton, Sag Harbor and Southampton areas β played against the Hackers, a team consisting of mostly local civilians, on Sunday night to raise money for the Hamptons First Responders Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that fosters sports competition and provides financial support for local causes to benefit local youth, first responder families and other charitable pursuits.
