Here are the top stories in East Hampton today:

  1. Katy Stewart, a beloved Sag Harbor girl who died at just 12 years old of a rare pediatric cancer, lives on in spirit as Katy's Courage 2022 events bring yum and fun to East Hampton. Festivities begin at the Buckskill Winter Club, 178 Buckskill Road in East Hampton on Saturday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required for the hockey games, parents and kids from 10:30 a.m.–noon ($35), adults from 7:45–9:15 p.m. ($35), and to try curling ($20) from 4–5:30 p.m. Register online at buckskillwinterclub.com, by calling the club directly at 631-324-2243 or by emailing info@buckskillwinterclub.com. 2. Ina Garten's got a new gig, with all sorts of celebrity guests appropriately called "Be My Guest with Ina Garten" — a new multi-platform series for Discovery Inc., the company announced on Thursday. The show will feature Garten inviting her famous friends into her Hamptons abode for what the network describes as, "a day of conversation, connection, food, and fun visits to some of her favorite local spots." (PEOPLE.com)
  3. Deactivation of East Hampton Airport and activation of the new, private-use airport has been delayed until May, town officials said. On Thursday, the town sent out a release stating, as it has in the past, that the intent is to implement a "balanced prior permission required framework" at the airport. "The town and FAA continue to work cooperatively to complete the deactivation and activation process in a timely and efficient manner, with the shared goal of the town opening a safe private-use airport in the manner that is least disruptive to aviation," the town said. 4. The East Hampton trustees voted unanimously on Feb. 14 to authorize a law firm to explore filing a class-action suit on behalf of town fishermen and citizens who have been denied access to the beach, or to join with a recently filed suit by the Town of East Hampton in the 13-year-old case, Daniel Spitzer, a lawyer for trustees, said.
