  2. According to Southampton Town Police, a bicyclist was hit in Flanders Thursday night, at 9:02 p.m. on Route 105 and Flanders Road. Patrol officers responded and found Richard Valentino, 32, conscious and alert, police said. Amanda Reyes, 19, was heading home from work and had the green light when Valentino crossed into the roadway on his bike, police said. No charges were filed, police said. (Southampton Patch)
  3. Suit seeks to stop Wainscott excavation for South Fork wind project. The subject of this turmoil isn’t even the wind turbines themselves, a 15-strong cluster called South Fork wind farm that would sit about 35 miles off Montauk, the extreme eastern end of New York’s Long Island. The prospect of this underground extension cable, which would help provide power to about 70,000 Long Island homes, has enraged Wainscott's property owners. (Subscription: Newsday)
