Here are the top stories in East Hampton today:

  1. A little girl, 6, who police said was run over by a relative's Jeep while sledding at a recreational facility in Southampton Sunday, is expected to make a full recovery, Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman said. Schneiderman said Tuesday that the child sustained no life-threatening injuries, is in "good spirits," and is expected to recover fully. (Southampton Patch)
  2. The Southampton Arts Center to feature β€œOutcropping β€” Indigenous Art Now,” on Feb. 4 opening. "The title β€˜Outcropping’ refers to the translation of the word 'Shinnecock' into English as β€˜People of the Stony Shore,’ and to the Shinnecocks’ long connection to this land," according to the East End Beacon. "This is a bold step toward celebrating contemporary artists from the Shinnecock Nation and an array of sovereign Indigenous nations throughout the United States." (East End Beacon)
  3. A curvy mansion by architect Charles Gwathmey, who tore up the style guide on traditional, shingle-style homes in New York’s Hamptons in the mid-20th century, hit the market this weekend for $27.9 million. Gwathmey was one of the prominent architects perhaps most well-known for his work across the East End as well as his 1992 renovation of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan. (DIRT)
