Here are the top stories today in East Hampton:

  1. After 27 years, the beloved brunch spot Babette's has closed. Sant Ambroeus has filled its spot at the edge of town in a cedar shingled building on Newtown Lane. This Italian restaurant will have a Milanese menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner - not to mention an assortment of their baked goods for takeaway. (Guestofaguest.com)
  2. Eric Firestone Gallery unveils Hanging / Leaning: Women Artists on Long Island, 1960s-80s, on this Memorial Day Weekend. The exhibition celebrates the ingenuity of postwar women artists, 21 artists in all, with connections to the East End. (Broadway World)
  3. Blue Masques earn 13 Teeny Award nominations and 'SpongeBob' wins Judges' Choice Award (RiverheadLOCAL)
  4. Long Island has plenty of spots to visit and pick fresh strawberries, usually in June. The next berries ready for harvest in July are raspberries and blueberries. Blackberries are the last to come into season, usually set for harvest in August. See a list of East End farms where you can harvest Long Island's best berries. (LongIsland.com)
