East Hampton Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Crimes Against Children

Henry Lopez Gonzalez, who confessed nearly a year ago, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Suffolk County Criminal Court to multiple felony charges.

An East Hampton man who to sexually abusing three children pleaded guilty to three felony charges on Tuesday at Suffolk County Court in Riverside.

Henry Lopez Gonzalez, 28, pleaded guilty to two charges of criminal sex acts in the first degree, and one more of course of sexual conduct against a child in the second degree.

The man had confessed in March of 2011 to East Hampton Town Police,Β claiming he had abused the children, each under seven years old, over a period of several months.

According to court records, Lopez Gonzalez was also facing 10 other charges, including four felonies, which will not be prosecuted following his plea.

An attorney defending Lopez Gonzalez at the time of his arraignment in East Hampton Town Justice Court about a year ago told the court that her client, at the time, was a married father and had been living in East Hampton for 10 years. She said he worked as a chef for four years at Nichol's restaurant in East Hampton and had previously worked for six years at another restaurant.

According to a report on 27East, Lopez Gonzales is facing up to 25 years in prison, and a court date for May 4 is expected to be adjourned.
