Firefighters Take It ToThe Streets For A Worthy Cause
They rode their motorcycles to raise money to ultimately help burn victims.
EAST HAMPTON, NY - Thanks to The Red Knights NY Chapter 25, an organization of past and present fire service personnel dedicated to promoting motorcycle safety, projecting a positive image of motorcycle enthusiasts and giving to local charities, the streets of the East End were alive with the sound of cycles safely roaring along this past Sunday.
Approximately 230 members rode together and when they arrived in East Hampton the East Hampton Emergency Services Building on Cedar Street honored their own by hanging a huge American flag from the ladder of one of their fire engines — just in time for them to all drive past it.
Michael Davis, a former firefighter and the President of the Red Knights NY Chapter 25, certainly knows his way around all those East End streets, having been a firefighter in the Springs, Bridgehampton and Riverhead.

“I lived in the Springs, then moved to Bridgehampton and now I live on the North Fork,” he says. “The Red Knights was founded in April 2005 and we have raised over $100,000 for the Burn Center Fund at Stony Brook University Hospital.
“We raise the money for things the center needs that their ordinary funding doesn’t cover,” Davis explains. “And our membership includes the Twin Forks.”
