The Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill will host an outdoor concert by the Brazilian Jazz performer Nilson Matta on Friday, June 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring a chair for the terrace or the lawn for the second concert in the Jazz en Plein Air series organized by Richie Siegler, jazz musician and Founder of Escola de Samba BOOM.
Nilson Matta has been hailed as a creative force in the evolution of Brazilian Jazz in the U.S. and called “one of music’s great bassists” by Raul Da Gama of the Latin Jazz Network. His live recordings at Carnegie Hall with cellist Yo Yo Ma have earned multiple Grammy nominations.
Refreshments will be available from the museum’s Golden Pear Café. Drink specials include $5 Southampton Publick House Beers and $10 Wolffer Estate Rosé.
The concert is free with museum admission.
