Members of Amagansett Fire Department Honored
Phil Gamble recognized for a half-century of service.
The Amagansett Fire Department held its annual dinner at the Devon Yacht Club on Friday, honoring its members for a year of hard work.
Longstanding members of the fire department were also recognized, including Phil Gamble, who has been a member for 50 years.
Terry O'Riordan also has wracked up some time with the department — 40 years.
Daniel Shields and Bruce Stonemetz were also honored for 35 years of service.
Outstanding members of the fire department were recognized, as well.
Debbie DiSunno, an emergency medical technician, was named the EMS Service Provider of the Year. Scott Rodriguez, a member of Company #2, was given the Firefighter of the Year award.
The Chiefs' Appreciation award went to Dave DiSunno, someone Chief Dwayne Denton called "indispensable." DiSunno is the chairman of the fire department's 100th anniversary committee.
Tom Field, a longtime advanced emergency medical technician, was given an award for answering 4,500 calls.
The chiefs also chose Company #2 as the Company of the Year.
Former chief PJ Cantwell was given a plaque to commemorate his efforts leading the department. He stepped down earlier this year.
