'No Damage, Injuries' Reported In East Hampton After Earthquake: Town

East Hampton town police and town staff are continuing to monitor the situation, officials say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY β€” Although the 4.8 magnitude earthquake Friday morning in New Jersey left residents across the East End and beyond shaken, literally β€” in East Hampton Town, there were no reports of injuries or damage.

According to East Hampton town officials, once the earthquake was felt, the East Hampton Police Department, highway and buildings and grounds departments, and emergency preparedness teams promptly mobilized to assess any damage or injuries within the community.

"All departments have confirmed that no damage or injuries in East Hampton Town due to this
event have been reported," officials said. "East Hampton town police and town staff are continuing to monitor the situation and are in close contact with Suffolk County agencies. We will keep you updated with any further developments."
