Police: 3 Arrested on Drug Charges on Sunrise Highway

Three people were arrested Thursday night on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Sunrise Highway in East Quogue, according to State Police. 

Police responded to a call of an erratic vehicle traveling eastbound on Sunrise Highway near County Rt. 104 at about 11 p.m., police said. 

When troopers located the vehicle, the driver was not staying in one lane and a traffic stop was initiated, police said. 

Police said the driver James Lennon, 32, of Flanders, had glassy bloodshot eyes and he was arrested and charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree possession of a narcotic drug, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and felony driving while ability impaired by drugs.

A search of the vehicle and its two passengers yielded PCP in liquid form and cocaine, police said.

Passengers Andre Coach, 38, of Riverhead, and Giselle Douglas, 30, of Flanders, were each charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree possession of a narcotic drug and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance  All three people arrested were held for arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court.
