Police: Southampton Village Police Blotter


Southampton Village Police have arrested a Columbus, Ohio man with drunk driving, a felony since a computer check revealed he had two previous convictions for DWI; one in 2010 and another in 2011.

On June 14, at about 1:40 a.m. Erek G. Tilbury, 28, was stopped while traveling northbound on North Sea Road for failing to stay in his lane.

 Subsequently, his vehicle, a 2014 Toyota Prius, was impounded as per the Suffolk County Seizure Law.

Southampton Village Police have arrested a Southampton man for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after responding to a call for help in adjudicating a domestic argument.

On June 14, at about 9:30 p.m. John W. Gephardt, 60, incited an dispute among family members who called the police. Subsequently, police found Gephardt drunk, and he was arrested.

Southampton Village Police have arrested an Islip man and charged him with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies, possession, a misdemeanor and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

On June 14, at about 12:29 a.m. Christopher D. Davis, 22, was stopped at a traffic stop on the North Sea Road. Subsequently, Southampton Village Police found a “quantity” of cocaine in the car.

Davis was processed and held for morning arraignment.

Southampton Village Police have arrested a Hampton Bays man for aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor and leaving the scene of motor vehicle accident, a violation.

On June 15, at about 10:56 a.m. Gerritt F. MacBride, 59, of Hampton Bays was arrested. Subsequently, it was discovered MacBride had an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear.

Earlier in the day, MacBride had been involved in a minor motor vehicle accident where he struck another parked car on Nugent Street and left the scene without reporting the accident.

MacBride was processed and held for arraignment.

The Southampton Village Justice Court issued warrants for the following individuals this week:  George N. Najm of Orefield, PA, Wilmer J. Ponce of Riverhead, Sarah E. King of Southampton, and Victor M. Velasquez of Riverhead.  These individuals are urged to turn themselves in to police to avoid further police actions.  Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of any of these individuals can call 283-0056.
