The Silas Marder Gallery in Bridgehampton will host an opening reception Saturday night from 5 until 9 in the evening for an exhibition of new paintings by Richmond Burton.
The gallery is located in an enormous barn behind the family’s garden shop off Snake Hollow Road. Guests are encouraged to drive to the back of the property.
Richmond Burton, a long-time resident of East Hampton now living in Woodstock, studied to be an architect before becoming a painter. His abstract rhythmic paintings have been shown at Chiem & Read in New York City and The Drawing Room in East Hampton.

On view will be a selection of paintings curated by Jess Frost, who has also curated exhibitions at the Lieber Museum and Glenn Horowitz, both in East Hampton. The paintings juxtapose some of Burton’s large scale compositions painted on the East End with newer works painted in Santa Monica, Brooklyn and Woodstock.
The exhibit will be on view in the gallery through August 11.
