Service for Doris Schwehr Will Be Held on Friday

Doris Elizabeth Schwehr, a longtime Montauk resident, passed away Sunday at the Hampton Care Center where she had resided for the past few years.

A Mass will be held on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center at 10 a.m.

Schwehr was a very simple woman, she loved to knit, she loved all animals including her dogs, and gardening. She moved out here in the 1950s with her late husband, William W. Schwehr. She formally resided at her home on Kirk Avenue. 

She is survived by her son, Leonard W. Schwehr, and her granddaughters and grandsons Kristina Schwehr, Alexa Schwehr, Kendall Bahns, Jerry Strain, Dawn Strain, Rachel Strain and Logan Strain.
