VIDEO: Sportsmen's Expo Brings Out Crowd

The second annual expo supports traditional outdoors activities.

Building on the success of its first Sportsman's Expo last year, the East Hampton Sportsmen's Alliance's second annual Expo, held on Saturday at the Amagansett Fire Department, was a resounding success.

Exhibitors ranged from the East Hampton Town Trustees (Joe Bloecker shucked clams) to the US Coast Guard. Demonstrations were given in archery and duck decoy carving. East Hampton police officers gave out free gun locks.

The Cornell Cooperative Extension held a Marine Meadows workshop, where participants — including a handful of Girl Scouts — helped make eel grass beds that will be used in Napeague.

There were several raffles held to raise money for the alliance. The winners are:

  • H & R Slug Gun (Donated by Amagansett Hardware): David Gamble
  • Remington Shotgun (Donated by Amagansett Hardware): Bill Cardone
  • Rod & Reel (Donated by Tight Lines Tackle): Fred Verity
  • Lifetime DEC Sportsmen's License (Donated by East Hampton Sportsmen's Alliance): Carl Forsberg
