Village Police Logs: 2 Cadillacs, 2 Drunken Driving Arrests

East Hampton Village police say two drivers shouldn't have been behind the wheel this weekend.

The following information was supplied by the East Hampton Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

• After receiving word of an erratic driver on Main Street in East Hampton Village on Friday, police arrested an Amagansett woman on a felony charge of operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs.

Police said it was 54-year-old Marie V. Hayden's second such offense. According to her arrest report, Hayden's Cadillac crossed over the white line on the shoulder of the road near Mill Hill Lane at about 11:50 p.m. She was stopped on Woods Lane, near Main Street. Police said her voice was slurred and her pupils were dilated. She failed several sobriety tests.

Hayden agreed to a blood test, which is being reviewed by the Suffolk County Crime Lab. Her Cadillac was impounded under the county's seizure law due to a prior conviction in September 2010.

• Escobar Edgar Humberto, 46, of Englewood, NJ, was arrested on a misdemeanor driving while intoxicated charge on Saturday just after midnight. Police said they saw his Cadillac cross over into the shoulder of Montauk Highway several times while he headed west. Police said he failed several sobriety tests.
