1 Seriously Injured In Crash That Shut Down Northern State

Police say a 64-year-old man crashed into another car, injuring the two occupants and causing his vehicle to overturn.

WESTBURY, NY — New York State Police said one person was seriously injured in a crash on Friday that shut down multiple lanes of the Northern State Parkway.

Just before 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, police said a 64-year-old man from Nesconset was driving a 2004 Mercedes east on the Northern State when he hit a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder near Exit 32 in Westbury.

The crash caused the man's car to overturn. He was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in serious condition.

There were two people in the Nissan. They were also taken to NUMC, but with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash shut down all of the eastbound lanes of the parkway for multiple hours.
