4 Women Charged In Month-Long Nassau Burglary Spree: Police

They stole a large amount of money and personal belongings before fleeing, police said.

PLAINVIEW, NY — For Romanian women were charged in connection to multiple burglaries at homes across Nassau County since last month, police said.

The women entered each residence without permission and stole a large amount of money and personal belongings before fleeing, police said.

  • March 17 at a residence on Gates Avenue, East Meadow
  • April 15 at a residence on Abbey Lane, Levittown
  • April 15 at a residence on Eileen Avenue, Plainview

Following a thorough investigation with the assistance of US Customs and Border Protection, Nassau County Police, the Chicago Police Department and the New York City Police Department all four women were identified and located on Tuesday.

Cristina Tanasie, 25, Cornella Chiciu, 34, Ioana Miclescu, 21, and Alina Antonescu, 36, were all placed under arrest without incident, police said.

They are charged with two counts of second-degree burglary. Chiciu is also charged with five more counts of second-degree burglary, police said.

They were scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
