• Central Islip federal judge demands answers on Long Island ICE detainee's treatment (newsday.com) — A federal judge is scrutinizing Immigration and Customs Enforcement over its handling of a detainee who was held for about 77 hours at the Nassau County jail in East Meadow, beyond the county’s 72-hour agreement. The judge says ICE records appear evasive or false and has ordered the Department of Homeland Security to justify its actions by Dec. 30 or face possible contempt.
