Clarke Middle School Evacuates For Bomb Threat

BREAKING: The school was evacuated on Friday morning, police say.

A bomb threat at Clarke Middle School in Westbury that caused the school to be evacuated on Friday morning.

According to authorities, the students and staff at Clark Middle School, located at 740 Edgewood Drive, were evacuated to East Meadow High School at approximately 10:27 a.m.

Please be advised that there has been a bomb threat at W.T. Clarke MS/HS. All students and staff have been evacuated to East Meadow High School. Nassau County Police are currently on campus and investigating the threat. All students are safe.
We strongly encourage all parents to not come to W.T. Clarke, as it will impede the police investigation. We will continue to keep you updated throughout the afternoon as the situation develops.

An updated message on the school's website at 12:25 p.m. said:

The Nassau County Police have conducted a thorough search of the W.T. Clarke building and have deemed the building safe to return to. All W.T. Clarke MS/HS students will be returned to school. We would like to thank the students, staff and parents for their cooperation during this time.

No injuries have been reported.
