The victim was identified Wednesday morning as Ming Deng, 58, of East Meadow. Her family said she was an EEG technician at NUMC, just one block from the scene of the accident, according to Newsday.

Daley was arrested at the scene and brought to a hospital for treatment of a leg injury, cops said. He was charged with second-degree manslaughter, second-degree reckless endangerment, and reckless driving. An arraignment has not yet taken place.

The crash may have been caused by a car that was fleeing a traffic stop in a suspected drug deal, according to WABC. Officers had attempted to pull over a car, which fled and slammed into two other cars on the busy road, according to the report.
