Duo Robbed Nassau Liquor Store, Attacked Employee

Police are searching for two men who stole bottles from the store and hit an employee with a bottle of wine when confronted.

WESTBURY, NY — Nassau County police are searching for two men who robbed a liquor store in Westbury and attacked an employee there Thursday night.

According to police, two men entered Wheatley Hills Discount Wine and Spirits, at 193 Post Ave., at 6:50 p.m. They took bottles of liquor and wine and hid them in their clothing. An employee saw them and confronted them, police said, and one of the men took a wine bottle from his jacket and hit the employee with it. The two then fled on foot.

The employee suffered a cut from the wine bottle.

The first man was Black, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and around 50 years old. He was wearing a black jacket, a green camo baseball hat and a rainbow-colored face mask. The second man was also Black and about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, wearing a black jacket, green pants and a face mask with a skull on it.

Police are asking anyone with information about this robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
