EAST MEADOW, NY — East Meadow High School and W.T. Clarke High School's varsity cheerleading teams competed in the 2022 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship from Feb. 11-13 in Orlando, Florida.
The East Meadow Jets cheerleaders enjoyed an amazing trip as they finished third out of 18 teams in the preliminary competition and advanced to the semifinals. Overall, the Jets placed 16th in the nation in the Medium Varsity Division II. They also had a great time exploring all four theme parks in their free time, along with a delicious team dinner before the competition and a team picnic to cap off their trip.
The W.T. Clarke Rams cheerleaders had previously competed at a regional championship in December and earned a chance to be a part of this prestigious event against the best cheerleading teams in the nation. The Rams’ hard work throughout the season paid off as they put on an incredible performance. After a great performance at ESPN Wide World of Sports, the team was able to celebrate their accomplishments with some fun at the Walt Disney World parks.
