East Meadow High School Musician Earns All-National Honors

EAST MEADOW, NY — East Meadow High School Wind Ensemble senior Emma Friel was selected to take part in the 2022 All-National Honors Ensembles Concert Band.

This honor is the culmination of a high school career that included performances in NMEA All-County Festivals as well as the NYSSMA All-State Symphonic Band at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester.

In addition to the euphonium, Friel also plays the trombone and was designated as an All-State Alternate at this year’s NYSSMA Winter Conference. Friel plans on continuing her musical studies next year at the university level as a music education major and aspires to become a high school band director.
