East Meadow Honors Kelly Di Scalfani As She Retires
The principal of Meadowbrook Elementary is retiring at the end of the month after 31 years with the district.

EAST MEADOW, NY — Meadowbrook Elementary School Principal Kelly Di Scalfani was showered with love and support from district leaders during the East Meadow Board of Education’s Jan. 12 meeting. Di Scalfani, who will retire at the end of the month, served the East Meadow School District for 31 years as a classroom teacher, Quest teacher, director of literacy and funded programs, assistant principal and principal.
“She has done an amazing job at building school spirit within her school and her community,” said Superintendent Dr. Kenneth A. Card Jr. “It takes someone extraordinary to do so well under pressure and bring order out of confusion. Ms. Di Scalfani has done just that. Your passion and energy will be missed, but your legacy will live on.”
Di Scalfani was recognized for her positive attitude, great enthusiasm and dedication to the Meadowbrook school community and the East Meadow School District by the board of education. She thanked the board of education, administration, staff, parents and students for their support through the years.

“The entire East Meadow family has provided such an impact on me over the course of my tenure,” she said.
Danielle Lasher, assistant principal at Woodland Middle School, will succeed Di Scalfani as principal of Meadowbrook Elementary School.
