Elderly Man On Scooter Hit By Car, In Serious Condition: Nassau Police
Police say he was driving his scooter across Old Country Road when he was hit in the intersection.
WESTBURY, NY — An elderly man is in serious condition after his electric scooter was hit by a car on Sunday.
According to police, a 23-year-old woman was driving a 2020 Nissan SUV west on Old Country Road at 1:11 p.m. when she hit an electric scooter operated by a 75-year-old man as he was crossing at Post Avenue.
The driver of the car was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The man on the scooter suffered severe trauma to his head and chest and is listed in serious condition.
