Man Harassed Child Outside Nassau Hospital, Attacked Officer: Police
Police say the man bit an officer while he was being booked after his arrest.
EAST MEADOW, NY — A Queens man was arrested Monday after police say he harassed a child, and then attacked a police officer.
According to police, a woman and her 7-year-old daughter were waiting at a bus stop in front of Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow at 9:55 p.m. when a 36-year-old man from Queens approached them.
The man began to verbally and physically harass the child, police said. The woman took her daughter into the hospital, where they found a Lynbrook police officer. The officer found the man and placed him under arrest.

During the man's booking at the Nassau County Third Precinct, police say he bit an officer on the arm. Both the officer and the man were taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The man was charged with second-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
